Anime: True Tears

True Tears as the name suggest you will cry that this thins in an anime. Let’s get to this revive contains : Spoilers , negativity, sarcasm, and recommendation’s what you should watch instead.

Characters 1/10
Their decision wore irrational, like they did what was convenient for the plot or rather two plots that ware mixed to one as the creators clearly wanted to do both but had no idea how make it reasonable. Don’t get me wrong this is a mission impossible to begin with and should not be forced. This resulted in a garbage story the author force on the viewer, and the main characters become the tools to do so, asking themselves: "What am I doing?" - I HATE THAT!
Good character build is this. The characters have their personality and meant not to be toyed with, the author should put the world an events under them and let them do as characters simple should be themselves. Isurugi Noe had most of screen time with the main character Nakagami Shin and they had a god time together, they like each other’s company, on what world of irrationality would they choose not to be together? Well if you can answer this you properly watched a different series :D, of cores there is always an answer it’s called DeusexFoxYou or deus ex machina one of the two.

Story 1/10
Where did this anime go wrong? Well…from the start, there must have been two scripts.
Script one: Is about Shin'ichirou is in love deeply with Hiromi they will get together, and the hardships that get in the way but because Shin is so in love nothing else matter so let’s survive until the time the series end.
Script two shin is normally in love (having a boner) on crappy but good looking woman Hiromi, but meats a girl who treats him like a chicken, and he realizes that is fun, on top of that falls in love with his new master and owner Noe, a nice entertaining kind and weird girl who inspires him to become a better human, and it’s fun to watch.
And the following is the anime summed up:
Author: “I will not allow you to have good time spell activating card Polymerization, by fusing love cliche story one and fun love story two I call forth my Chaos twin headed abomination. I equip the main character with “Random Make No Sense (RMNS)” he randomly fully, or randomly not in love with everyone YES EVERYONE. Now I activate a Field spell “pointless plot” everyone effected by RMNS’s effect. I activate spell card “sister exchange” now both male characters will go out with each other sisters and when the effect ends, I equip the plot it with random incest hell I equip it with another random incest so they both want to go out with their own sisters. But that is not all I activate my trap card, random girl who has nothing to do with the two plot line kiss Shin. That negates out your complains that only ruined two good scripts and makes you believe I ruined three. Next attack my monster with you “main character ditch the good girl he love's for the one he should not but have a boner, while crying in regret and despair” attack, and with the "incest that is actually biologically not" your attack power is doubled. Do 8000 damage to all characters and viewers.

Lesson if you have two skips make two anime not one from both.

Let’s talk about love, love can be good in many ways, and the feeling is so irresistible, because it makes its victim so happy just feeling it they want to follow it even more, in extreme case no matter the consequence’s they will feel happy just being with the one, nothing matters, and they don’t care anyone or anything else. In this anime there were two possible scenarios, the only saving reason to explain the character irrational behavior and horrible decision making would be if the main character would be in love fully to Hiromi. In witch case why the hell did he go after other girls like he got over the feeling of not being able with the one he is in love with like, she was not even important? This made no sense. And if you are in love and it dos not work out the reason why you don't go after other girls is simple no one is even the least is as good as the one you are in love with.
The main character ditches the girl whose he like to spend time for a girl (Yuasa Hiromi), who is depressing, inhuman, manipulative, selfish, a horrible person worthless female definitely not someone anyone with a sane mind want to spend even a minute with. The main character Shin cried on his knees when he made the decision he was FORCED by the author like a miserable idiot, as the women he really loved walked out of his life, and in the special 13 into suicide (assumingly), and accepted a relationship where both of them ware depressed and sad THAT IS NOT HOW LOVE WORKS!!!!
Now here are some good drama you might love : Clannad 19/20, Kanon 17/20 , Saikano18/20, Air14/20 , Beyond the Boundary19/20 , Ai Yori Aoshi 12/20., Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun14/20

Animation 3/10
I prefer graphics that are beautiful. But if so make the characters also beautiful. The background was better made by far than the characters. That is a mistake, this takes the focus from the characters. In an anime the focus should be on the characters, in a far beautiful background they are literally in the way. Doing lass good background or more detailed, beautiful character design should be the way to go, at least for me. (if you think oppositely on graphics you probably will like this) Also at some parts it felt like the background was not finished to be drawn. I felt like “Guys the background is good it’s okay if you can finish it. No seriously finish the white shading and don’t just leave the paper empty like there is nothing there” And dos found the animation annoying.

Enjoyment: 3/10
As much this was pointless chaos, as senseless plot, and worthless characters for me. there ware some good scenes. To bad the only character I liked and wound interesting for actually having personality Isurugi Noe was how to put it nicely, tormented used out left alone and driven to suicide for no reason or meaning. That second incest Author was a dick move. I fell like watching Schoool days ....again...well hey at leas school days is not the wrist romantic anime I know any more yey fro knifes :D

Sound 3/10
It was normal, nothing outstanding and sometimes bad. There ware important scenes where the music should have been sad instead happy like the heartbroken girl before grave, or happy like the part when the lovers ware together but the background was like a tragedy’s. The opening was lame boring skippable and forgettable for me. BUT regarding the mode if you need to play a music to make it bearably while watching ….something is wrong there vary wrong…and if that music is from school days and you saw that anime….you understand why I gave 3/10 generously.
Personal thoughts, my personal vote on this anime is 1/20 a sin again humanity and an insult on the word “love” and “romance”. I proudly recommend it to sadists who want to see meaningless torment.

True Tears was the unexpected delight of its season. This is probably one of the most believable harem/romance series that I have watched. There isn't any magic, fan-service panty shots, guys trying to do every girl he meets, etc. It's just about a group of people and the difficulties they experience in conveying how they feel about each other.

This series starts out a bit slow but develops quickly into a dramatic standoff where you can't tell which way it's going to go. This is a really well done piece of work and really worth a watch (or two). Note that this is purely a drama/romance and NOT a comedy (sort of KGNE-ish but with less exposure of the inappropriate type).

Animation:
The animation in general is very nicely done. Crisp drawings and luscious backgrounds and colorings make for a very aesthetic experience. As I mentioned before, fan service is minimal (if you even find any). There is use of CG graphics which makes it look awkward at times (very unnatural animation of students going up stairs) but the usage is not enough to detract from the overall quality of the work.

Sound:
The OP is very open and blends nicely with the themes and BGM in the series. The music is just right, not overused but it supports just when it is needed. The VAs do a really good job of giving each character a distinct personality, a superb job overall.

Story:
The story for this anime turned out to be a lot more intricate than I originally thought. The main plot is a typical romance/harem. The male lead character meets and interacts with an assortment of girls and then has a few episodes where he agonizes over what to do and then makes a choice at the last minute.

However, as a well planned series, his choice over who he chooses is completely in the air in the middle of the series, I even changed my prediction several times. Be prepared for many cliffhangers that made waiting a week for the next episode almost exhausting.

Plot twists come endlessly (almost predictably at the end of episodes for yet another cliffhanger) though they are very well planned and executed so they seem natural and plausible.

The ending is believable (relatively tame compared to many other series) and puts a sufficiently conclusive end the series.
This series did an amazing job at delivering a plausible and believable storyline.

Character:
The main character, Shinichiro, is a typical-seeming male who lives with an adopted girl (Hiromi) and meets another girl named Noe who lost her tears (ability to cry) after her grandmother's death. Shinichiro has a crush on Hiromi but is unable to confront his feelings. Will the (slightly-weird) girl Noe be able to bring him to his senses or will she steal his heart?
It is also nice to see that for once parents/family actually have a presence and make an impact on the storyline (I've been seeing way too many series where adults just disappear or are never present).

Value:
Having already completed two full run throughs of the series, I will say that this is definitely one of the top shows in the genre. If anything, it is the type of show that you enjoy and then want more of once it is over. I sure hope they do an OVA or something cause this story still has future potential.

I'm sure this is happiness."[br][br]True Tears is one of 2008 maybe... the best of 2008 winter's line up of anime for its promising style of solid artwork and script, well mixed of emotions and feelings plus the background music blended in each episodes are well combined to create a nice anime like this.[br][br]ok here are the statistics...[br][br]Animation: The vibrant color for each episodes are well made, some scenes are like artworks and paintings. Detailed backgrounds and surroundings plus great atmosphere for those who are watching.[br][br]The characters are simply made but I think it is well blended in the detailed background creating a nice scene for each episodes.[br][br]In short Animation is almost perfect 9.5/10[br][br][br]Sound: [br][br]OP ~ Reflectia by Eufonius[br]ED ~ Sekai no Namida by Aira Yuki[br][br]The ed doesn't catch me but not bad either, the op is nice IMHO specially when it is playing in some scenes of the anime. Even the minus-one/piano version of the op is nice and suited very well in some scenes that it had been played.[br][br]BGM's that have been played also suited the scenes of this anime. Some said that this anime have great OST too it means even bgm's are nice and both done very well in the anime.[br][br]VA's did well too, from the energetic Noe to the timid Hiromi. The staff did well in this section[br][br]All in all Sound is 10[br][br][br]Story:[br][br]Not unique, a school-life/slice of life drama anime but.....[br][br]When it comes to cliffhanger it really wants me to watch the next episode. "I'm curious what will happen next.. damn". That's what I've been said when I'm watching this show last winter.[br][br]The story is interesting but maybe it doesn't satisfying at all if only an OVA will made it can close the whole thing very nicely.[br][br]The main thing that raise the story points for this anime is the excitement and curiosity that can bring this anime to you in each episodes... not satisfying but good.[br][br]Story for me is 8[br][br][br]Character: [br][br]The 3 girls that involved in here, Noe, Hiromi and Ai... only 2 of them have been portrayed nicely.. Noe and Hiromi... Maybe the lack of scenes is the cause why Ai chan doesn't completely evolved unlike the 2.[br][br]But the strength for this part... were the emotions they delivered for what they are portraying. You can felt the emotions for each character that's why even you don't like a certain character you will like him/her because of the human emotions that a certain character can touch you.[br][br]The characters evolve in a nice way and they realized what they are doing... what's right or not... how to clean things that have been messed up are good.[br][br]All in all characters that packed with human emotion that even can touch you just by watching it deserves a nice score too 8.5[br][br][br]Value:[br][br]As one of season's best I think it's worth for its value.Re watchable but I think it will not affect you at the 2nd time you will watch it again[br][br]Value: 8[br][br][br]Enjoyment:[br][br]I've enjoyed this series and honestly many scenes have touched me and made me depressed. True tears? What kind of title is that is what I thought at first. In majority of animes the titles never make sense so in this case I thought the same would apply. I was pretty wrong the title actually works soo well that its not even funny. Yes this anime is based around the idea of tears and emotions :). Actually I found that this anime was very original in its approach. Yes the anime has a harem surrounded the male lead found in most animes but it also has quite a few twists around that. Basically the anime focuses on two kinds of development for the main characters. The ability to "fly and cry" hahaha. Sounds like a game or something but I literally mean it in the sense that the characters are constantly striving to understand there own emotions and also find there own ambitions hence being able to cry and fly. The anime starts with a fateful meeting between isurgi Noe a weird "outcast" girl and shinichirou the son of a prominent saki maker. Noe who has lost her ability to cry sees the potential in Shinichirou and starts to tag along with him saying that he is the key for her to regain her ability to create tears. Yes the plot is kinda weird at first.

Animation
It is good and it isn't good at the same time. When they choose to NOT use CG the animation is quite nice and fluid. The backgrounds are coloured nicely and the characters move naturally without too much distortion and repeat frames. On the otherhand when they get lazy they use c for this and it looks bad. I think that they decided to only animate important parts and stick crappy cg for ANYTHING else that they could. Unfortunately for them this occured too much and really lowered the overall quality of animaton. Even in the opening they couldn't keep it completely drawn. Personally I feel some CG is ok but when its soo much that its obvious then its not good at all. Other then that the animation fit well even when they had sports scenes or faster paced scenes it looked really good. That is why I didn't understand why they used soo much CG... Clearly they could of kept it consistent and made it all nice :(.

Sound
I don't have many complaints about the sound. It was nice. The opening was normal and neither hated or liked it. The ending was cool I liked the tune and the miniature characters. I tend to like simpler tunes though espially for romance/drama type animes. The OST was there but I rarely paid too much attention to it so all i can say is it was fine. The voice acting was good, you could really hear the emotion from the characters. None of the voices stood out too much though.

Story
Definitely the best part in the anime. Like i mentioned before they choose a really creative touch to approach this anime. Instead of just jumping straight into a love story they based it more on realization. A great portion of the series followed the characters and there own self realization of the situation and also there own feelings. From the start till the end not a HUGE amount happens but it is also a short series. The other thing I should stress is that it may sound like the story isn't soo important and rather the characters were the main focus, but I personally felt what they gained and not what happened to the characters was more important. That is what is learnt is more important then the characters themselves. Its hard to explain actually but for me I found that even at the end of the series it wasn't that important what actually happened to the characters. I mean sure there are somethings that you wanted to see happen but the choices they make or who they choose for there love partner made little difference to me. What mattered the most was how they went about getting to the conclusion. Thus the actual characters themselves were just a tool to get you there.

Character
The characters themselves as I said before for me weren't as important. Sure they go through massive development and also sure in order for the story to flourish this development was necessary but in the long run the characters were the lesser of the two. Actually I didn't care that much about the individual characters themselves. Even after they became more respectable people I really had no huge attachment to them. For instances Noe I really disliked her throughout the entire series. She was a little cocky brat that always wanted her way. Of course she makes huge headway and changes drastically but even at the end I didn't have much sympathy for her. On the other hand the way they use her in the story is just beautiful. She was the key for development and a stepping stone for other characters. Same as many other characters such as the minor ones. Without them the story would not be able to flourish but at the same time they could have been easilly replaced without much thought. That is why the characters didn't stand out as much for me.

Value and Enjoyment
They have a nice message in the anime that which incorporates one trying to find themselves and also understand and show there own emotions. Other then the message I don't think I could watch this series again thats why the value is a bit lower for me. This series isn't that fast paced and has many ackward moments so its hard to go through another sitting. I did enjoy the series since it was really original. The chickens were my favorite part because they use them for many of the analogies. A few that don't make as much sense but its ok they served there purpose. I would only really recommend this to romance/drama anime fans since that is all it is. So if you decide to watch it well enjoy!
